An analytical and 22.2-year follow-up study was done on 2,441 middle-aged men in Finland, aged between 42 and 60 years. Researchers have used the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study data. The participants were divided into four groups based on the quantity and the type of protein consumption. The follow-up study shows the number of people diagnosed with heart failure event is 334. Researchers say how the food was prepared can play a role in the risk of heart failure. They think that the increased risk of heart failure is due to some amino acids. There is also a need to conduct a study to know the effect of the consumption of a moderate quantity of protein on heart health.
