Letois and colleagues followed the participants for ten years. About 2,016 participants died during the study. Researchers found that the dead people had a history or risk factors of cardiovascular disease, poor health or consumed alcohol. The study shows.
The study shows the benefits of the Mediterranean diet for the elderly (more than 65 years) people. But this study does not show the exact benefits of the Mediterranean diet to people with diabetes.
